Helping Brighten the Holiday Season for our Local Communities
From organizing food drives that filled pantries to collecting toys that brought smiles to children’s faces, our efforts helped make the holiday season brighter for our local communities, especially in the Glades area.
“Through multiple food giveaways, and working in partnership with Palm Beach County, we donated more than 12,000 pounds of both our rice and Regenerative Organic Certified® sugar,” said Caroline Villanueva, South Florida External Affairs Director.
We embraced the start of the holiday season with a Thanksgiving giveaway. Teaming up with the Cities of Belle Glade, Pahokee and South Bay, as well as the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office and our fellow EAA farmers, we distributed 2,000 meals to our neighbors. The event included more than 1,000 turkeys, 1,000 hams and additional staples like our sugar and rice.
In addition, we had the pleasure of sponsoring the City of Belle Glade’s toy giveaway, which helped provide thousands of toys to hundreds of children. Parents and children excitedly participated in the Winter Wonderland-themed event with real snow! Besides the toy giveaway, the four-hour event featured snow tubing, music, games, and Santa Claus himself.
Volunteers and neighbors alike united to make a meaningful impact, embodying the true essence of the season by extending a helping hand to those in need. Thank you to everyone who helped make the holiday season meaningful!
