Florida Crystals Earns International Distinction with Global Safety Award
Florida Crystals has proudly earned the Gold Medal for Collective Professional Merit with International Distinction, an honor presented at the II Interactive Community Alliance (ICA) International Symposium on Occupational Safety, Health, Well-being and Sustainability in Miami.
This award is significant because it was part of the prestigious PREVER Awards’ first appearance in North America. We were nominated by a third party, then we were chosen from a competitive pool of organizations from the United States and abroad, because of our leadership, results and innovative approach to fostering a culture of safety.
The PREVER Awards, organized by Spain’s General Council of Industrial Relations and Labour Sciences, have celebrated best practices in occupational health and safety worldwide for over four decades. The event hosts safety leaders in industrial and agricultural areas from around the world.
Saul Rocha Pena, Senior Safety Manager and Emilio Luna, Safety Representative, accepted the award at the Miami event.
“We won this award because of the safety culture that we have here,” said Saul. “Over the past years, we’ve been getting excellent records on safety. We’ve been seeing a decrease in the number of accidents.”
By earning this Gold Medal, we join a select group of companies recognized for setting global benchmarks in workplace well-being, accident prevention and employee engagement.
“Winning this award is an honor,” said Emilio. “It’s an honor for our safety efforts to be recognized by an international organization. This puts our company name and our safety department on the front line, and it’s a tremendous feeling to know that we are making progress to meet those occupational safety and health standards that are expected internationally.”
