Florida Crystals’ Employees Volunteer to Help Build Homes for Families with Habitat for Humanity
A group of our employees rolled up their sleeves, picked up construction equipment and volunteered their efforts at the Habitat for Humanity Women Build on March 13. The initiative unites volunteers to build homes to help families achieve strength, stability and independence through housing.
As a proud sponsor of the event, Florida Crystals had a team of four dedicate their time to help make a difference in our West Palm Beach, Florida, community. We were represented by Margarita Femminella, Patricia Harris, Maricela Torres and Natalia Villa, who spent the morning working tirelessly on key construction tasks, contributing to a safe and stable home for a family in need.
“The experience of being involved in the Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build was very uplifting,” said Patricia. “The positivity was pervasive; everyone I met or engaged with was happy to be volunteering and doing something for our community. This was a great way to showcase our company’s commitment to being a good neighbor in this beautiful area we call home.”
Our team united with fellow community members to support the cause. They learned proper construction techniques, measured lumber and safely operated power tools. The physical work was demanding, but the team supported each other through every challenge.
“I was struck by how well everyone worked together on this project,” Patricia said. “I thought the construction foreman at our site had a formidable task – to put 25 women with little or no building or construction experience to work in a meaningful way. He did so all while keeping us safe, engaged and productive, which enabled us to walk away feeling like we accomplished something meaningful.”
Giving back is a core value of Florida Crystals. This hands-on volunteer work at the Habitat for Humanity Women Build aligns with our mission to uplift our local communities, empower residents and build lasting foundations for success.
