About Florida Crystals
Florida Crystals Corporation is a fully integrated cane sugar company, headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida.
In South Florida, we farm 190,000 acres, almost exclusively in Palm Beach County, where we also own two sugar mills, a sugar refinery, a packaging and distribution center, a rice mill and the largest biomass renewable power plant in North America. Our renewable energy facility generates clean power to fully operate our sugar operations.
We pioneered organic sugarcane farming and milling in the United States, and we remain the only producer of certified organic sugar 100 percent made in the USA, delivered to consumers through our Florida Crystals® brand. We also pioneered the production of certified organic rice in Florida. Today, we continue to mill the only organic and conventional rice grown and harvested in the Sunshine State. In addition to sugarcane and rice, as part of our sustainable farming practices, fresh vegetables are also rotated on our farms, including sweet corn, radishes and green beans.
Our subsidiary, ASR Group, which is owned in partnership with Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida, is the world’s largest refiner and marketer of cane sugar, with an annual production capacity of more than 6 million tons of sugar. Across North America, ASR Group owns and operates six sugar refineries, located in New York, California, Maryland, Louisiana, Canada and Mexico. The company also farms sugarcane and owns sugar mills in Mexico and Belize. In Europe, ASR Group owns and operates sugar refineries in the United Kingdom and Portugal and jointly owns a refinery in Italy. The company’s portfolio includes the leading brands Domino®, C&H®, Redpath®, Tate & Lyle®, Lyle’s®, Sidul® and Notadolce®.
Through our subsidiary, FCI Residential, we develop, construct and manage luxury apartment homes and extraordinary communities in urban and in-fill areas. The company currently has more than 5,000 units in the development pipeline throughout Florida.
In 2018, we launched a new innovative and sustainable company, Tellus, that converts all-natural sugarcane fiber that is leftover from the milling process into eco-friendly tableware and food-service products. Tellus products compost back to the earth in 77 days and offer a sustainable alternative to single-use plastics and Styrofoam. Tellus is a partnership with Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida.
